====== A Multidisciplinary Perspective ======


This course offers a multidisciplinary look at addiction in our society from social psychological, neurobiological, and economical perspectives. The course focuses on drug and gambling addictions, but also offers students the chance to investigate other behavioural addictions. A wide range of topics will be covered , including legal implications (e.g., cannabis legality), relapse, treatment and recovery. Topics will be explored through course readings, guest speakers and field trips. Students will be assessed through peer grading of their individual and group presentations, written assignments and projects. Interested students should submit a written statement of interest (limited to one page) that presents any relevant courses, personal experiences, volunteer experiences, or employment history that is applicable to the topic of addictions, to <isci490addictions@gmail.com>
